Buyer opened return

Buyer opened a return . I agreed to it . By message I've spoken to him and now after the list of faults he's trying to pressure me to give him money off instead. I feel he's trying to rip me off and he says when I've given him the money off he can close the return . I've suggested I cant reverse the return once I've done it. I don't want to anyway.

Stand your ground and tell them to return for a refund. No-one can force you to do a partial refund and the buyer will need to prove delivery to get a refund now you have agreed to the return. Just refuse to discuss it and keep telling them to return for a refund.

If the buyer has said this in an ebay message you can report them for Feedback Extortion.

I'm not sure I would waste time with live chat- i'd phone them. Either way to contact ebay you need to go through the help system, as that generates a pin if you call them, or a live chat window.

No soolin they haven't said it but they've flagged up such a list of things wrong ( not in the returns case) with the item eg asking if it's a second as it has flaws( it doesn't) that I get where they are going with this.

In that case ebay will not see it as extortion, they require it much more clear cut now. I had one recently they refused to help me with, buyer said unless I sorted out some issues they had with the item they would unfortunately have to reflect their poor experience in my feedback- that apparently is allowed.

In that case let ebay know you are having issues but don't expect any help at all, then just keep insisting they open a proper SNAD claim and return it for a full refund. Yes you will get a defect, but you can only get one per unique transaction so poor feedback after that won't matter as much. It might also call the buyers bluff, as some buyers are savvy enough to realise that sellers see bad feedback being left as them being a poor buyer and may well block them if it is noticed.

I also suspect but am not sure I'm having some malicious buyers as ive a had a few strange issues last few days which I'm dealing with one by one .
I can't find a link to live chat and can only do live chat as I'm not in a position to make phone calls easily today due to being in a meeting situation .i can only see the option to phone them when I search

My last real malicious stalker one was years ago, someone I picked up from here, lost of nasty little issues across my account, took ages for them to become bold enough to do daft things and finally allow me to report properly to ebay.

If you can't find live chat go back through the system and try different 'help' options, it usually comes up before the phone option!
