Van Leasing
Hi
Has anyone had any experience in leasing vans. I run a roofing and cladding company. I usually use my car to go to work, but this new job requires some more labour, so would like to look in to leasing a crew cab.
Who's the best companies to lease from. Is this the best option?

Don't know if these are any good, but they have a good-looking website with lots of useful info...

I looked at leasing a new van, but found the restrictions on mileage too onerous. I opted to buy a new van. Paid half cash and the other half financed. As I am vat registered I got a vat repayment.
Would never look at leasing now.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
I did see there was restrictions on the mileage. Which could be a problem. As this new job requires driving 120 miles a day.0

Have done in past but unless you hardly use it you will get penalties when you give it back for damage etc0

What would you say would be the best option. As I only have around £1500 to spend initially?0

Are you VAT registered? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thats the problem, £1500 might buy you a small van but anything bigger will be an issue. I was looking recently and to get anything half decent you need to spend over 5K.
Over the past few years van prices have gone up
Of course, there's always a high mileage ex builders van that might seem cheap0 -
How long is the job likely to last?
Also, Van Leasing sounds like a vampire hunter. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
What are your requirements? A few extra bodies plus a pile of tools/materials?
£1500 will get you a decent box trailer for the stuff, and leaves the car for up to 5 of you. Unless you need a lot of stuff (which it doesn't sound likely if you're using the back of a car) you should be fine to tow it too.
Or a roof box?0
