As reported by the Independent, HSBC also mistakenly confirmed yesterday that Apple Pay will launch tomorrow, Tuesday 14th July 2015.

Until retailers upgrade the software in their contactless payment terminals, many retailers will limit Apple Pay transactions to the £20 maximum imposed for contactless cards. This is because the existing software cannot distinguish between payments with one-factor authentication (e.g. contactless cards) and two-factor authentication (e.g. Apple Pay). Once retailers upgrade their software, Apple Pay will enjoy no transaction limit, just like chip & PIN.

That's odd. I tried several times to register my Santander Zero credit card, and it didn't work even at 1am, only after 6am.

It was just a standard debit card, took about 15 mins for the code to come and even after it registered i got an email saying it hadn't been successful but so far as i can see its all set up, not used it yet though

Santander Visa Debit cards were working in the early hours of this morning (around 1AM) but their MasterCard credit cards were sometime after 6AM (as posted above.)

Went to my local Co-Op here in Derby and used it successfully.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Managed to set up my Amex fairly quickly. It was already the card I have registered for the Apple Store so was really easy. Haven't tested it out yet though...
