How do I close HSBC account?

Help!

Trying to close a HSBC account, there is nothing in it, i dont use it I just want to close it.

there is no information on their website, and I cant email them, and I cant find an address to send a letter.

Has anyone had success?

I can't call them as I don't have the security number.

    Have you tried googling "close account HSBC"?

    The second result is a form, to close an account....

    [edit] Ignore me, that form is to close another account when youve transferred to HSBC.

    [edit2] I'll keep looking but it may be easier to go into branch!

    Perhaps call them on one of these numbers?

    According to the T&Cs
    You can tell us you want to close your account by:
    • calling us on the applicable number set out inthe table before section 1 of the General Terms or writing to us at the above address, except for Money Market accounts where you must call us or write to us at the details given in clause 3 of the Sterling Money Market terms;
    • telling your branch in writing, by phone or in person; or
    • using Online Banking

    closing a business account required me to drop a letter in to the branch recently. they had told me that they needed a signature to confirm it.

    first thought though is that perhaps, rather than closing, you ought to set up a couple of Direct Debits on the account & then transfer it to another bank for an incentive;)

    They should set all that up for you if you explain the situation to them. You wont be the first person who has called them with no idea of their security details.
