Good afternoon you lovely lot,
Neglected the diary the last few days tut tut, I truly think my little spider monkeys aka kids have tried to break my spirit this week but I have powered on through....oh and its only payday!
Isnt it funny that at one time we would skate on- by paying the minimum off our debts..and now I cant wait to pay as much as possible. So we managed to pay off £913 this month bringing our total down to £7340.68..I was hoping to pay off a little more but with kids birthdays and other stuff coming up it wasnt possible. Im so so tempted to pay off more but i have to be careful not to overpay and then of course end up with too little to get through the month.
So thats the Next account paid completely as is a loan of my hubbys
Also i think i may becoming obsessed with my spreadsheet...i cant tell you how much i enjoy updating it !!
Today has been busy i did a monthly shop with the budget of £200 it came in at 156.83, so the 43.17 has been popped in an envelope in my file for food expenses-if ive done my food shop right, i expect this to be spent on milk, bread-the odd treat for the kids. £30 was my budget for laundry, toiletries and household- i spent the lot. I have also put aside £200 for kids birthdays, cinema and theme park tickets £ 50 been spent so far on cinema......a trip to the pics used to be so much cheaper!! Hubby nearly choked on his coffee this morning when i booked it. I am really gonna try and stick to the budget, it should be ok . My daughter has asked for a hamster for her birthday.....so another mouth to feed haha!!
What else.......oh needed to buy new colour coordinated tshirts for the kiddies sports day and i budgeted £10.00 and i ended up getting 2 for £3.50 at soccer sports ! very happy with that ;O)
I am a tesco christmas saver and i put £60 into that today, come november i should have £320 land on my mat... which will go on xmas food, xmas eve pyjamas and clothes for my little spider monkeys.
Oh dear i appear to have rambled on there a bit, also just wanted to say thanks for all the comments , i appreciate all the tips and ideas too...its very comforting and im so glad i joined this forum. XXXMarch 2015 debt =10,355.21, June debt 2015=8253.68, July debt =7340.68

good morning
The cinemas were a success yesterday we watched the minions the kids loved it ...very funny.
On top of the price of the tickets we spent 8.70 on ice cream and a drink, these places really overcharge.
Theres a local fair today that we are taking the kids to, our teenager wont be coming but ive given the kids £5.00 each spends with the warning ....when its gone its gone. Hopefully ill stick to my guns ;o).
Im still keeping to the £5.00 main meal budget so thats good, we had to buy a new towbar for the car and we got 1 for a bargain at £30.00 from eb*y which should of been £85.00 so £55 saving there!
Not much else to report except i will be starting my spending diary tommorow and gonna try and get as much nsd as possible. gonna aim for at least 4 fingers crossed xxxMarch 2015 debt =10,355.21, June debt 2015=8253.68, July debt =7340.68

Been a beautiful day today the sun shining so got to sit in the garden for a little while. I did some of the dreaded uniform shop today ready for september, before now I would of left it till the week before and be desperately running around trying to find all the right sizes and would normally end up buying from the more expensive shops like debe**ams because they had the right sizes....but not this year.
Just done an online shop at a$da and it was mostly 2 for £5.00 so saved a fortune it was £76.95 for all 3 kids.... shirts, pants, jumpers, etc I have everything except for shoes. Last year in total I spent £350 for everything. I estimate maybe another £100 on shoes and im done, so £176 is a massive improvement on last year. The above has all been accounted for in the 'budget' already.... so everything is still looking ok. Other than that i spent £2.00 this morning on dog treats ;o) xxMarch 2015 debt =10,355.21, June debt 2015=8253.68, July debt =7340.68

Well done on getting uniform sorted. I can do DD2's primary uniform now but DD1's uniform at secondary is changing and isn't available until later July from the tailors in town!
How old are your three?
Cinema always costs us loads as we like the Tango Ice Blast slushy drinks which are £2 each - soon adds up with popcorn (unless i'm sneaking sweets in)Orange Fairy

My 4 are 14,6,4 and one. They're a handful but good kids on the whole ;o0.
Got sports day coming up and my little ones are telling me their school pumps are a little tight...so thats me off to the sports shop for 2 new pairs of kicks later, its all spend spend lately. I need some new makeup, but i have a money off voucher that will help with that....oh and its ridiculously hot here at the moment and ive just dragged out the paddling pool and theres a hole in the base of it ! So I need to get a cheap one of those too. Clearly today will not be a nsd day xMarch 2015 debt =10,355.21, June debt 2015=8253.68, July debt =7340.68

Good morning all,
As planned we went to the sports shop for the kiddies trainers....despite my urging them to pick some lovely minnie mouse and spiderman trainers which were only £10 pound a pair....they were having none of it ;o/ , 'we want the one with the ticks mummy, they help us run faster' how do you argue with that logic?? So 2 pairs of N!ke trainers £20 each , not too terrible i suppose.
Sports day was fab, between the pair of them they gained 4 2nd places and 1 1st place , im usually quite normal but when it comes to sports day I turn into crazy mamma.. jumping up and down at the finishing line urging my kiddies along haha, god only knows what the other mums thought ;O).
On the money front i finally got round to getting my life insurance sorted which is £10 a month and an added perk of a £75.00 amazon voucher after ive paid my fifth direct debit(so that should arrive in December)
Also changed broadband and call provider which will be saving me £10 per month and i also get £100 worth of love to shop vouchers which i will receive in 28 days.
So thats £175 which will be put away for Christmas, so happy with that!!
Lots of fun things planned this weekend with the kids but today lots of cleaning and laundry to do!
So got to be getting on with it xxxxMarch 2015 debt =10,355.21, June debt 2015=8253.68, July debt =7340.68

Good morning all
Had a lovely weekend, we went to a family festival day with the kiddies they were given £5 each spends, in honesty it didnt go very far all the rides and stalls were so expensive. But i took along a picnic and we sat on our little blanket and listened to the live music.
A family member of mine also went and spent £60 in the first hour!...its so easily done and Im glad I stuck to my guns we had a great day and it cost under £20.
Yesterday we had a family do to go to, i spent around £9.00 on a gift and £30.00 at the bar, they ran out of cordial for the kids so had to get them fruit $hoots at £2.00 a go! Couple of pints for the hubby and a wkd for me. Also we thought that food would be put on but it wasnt so had to pay for some lunch for the kids £2.95 a plate , it took over an hour to arrive so we got the cost of one plate back.
So we had a pretty spendy weekend, but i cant feel bad about it, we had lots of fun and spent far less than we would have normally.
I cancelled my experian reports for myself and hubby..saving us £15 a month. I just have to check out noddle now.

Hi there
Just had a read through and subscribed. You sound very focussed so I'm sure you'l reach your goal. It's hard when kids are involved, I've only got a 1 year old and he's hard enough to say no to so I can imagine what its like for you.
Keep up the good work.January 2015 - LBM

Hi, thankyou
Yes its very hard to say no but they had a great time, thats the firm rule from now on, on days out like that they have a maximum of £5.00. I find they are actually being quite careful with their money now and trying to make it go as far as possible...seems I have little money savers in the making!
So whats new, I joined shopper thoughts and ive chose the option to be paid in clubcard points for each review. This company is linked to tesc0 so im hoping this will top up my christmas savings a little more. I bought my daughter a bargain hamster cage yesterday for £11.50 of eb@y which was 50% off and free postage, its for her birthday in a couple of weeks she will be going to pick the new member of the family on the day. I have no idea how much hamsters cost but surely it wont be over £20??
Im still sticking to the spreadsheet ;o) I dont think ill be spending any money today and we have nothing planned for the weekend as yet, the weather man predicts heavy rain...so anything outdoorsy is out, will have a think.... something thats maximum fun but minimum cost.(if only)

Morning campers!
Well yesterday wasnt the no spend day I was expecting, my daughter lost a tooth so I had to sub the toothfairy £1 ;o).
Today wont be either its a lovely sunny day so will be popping out to buy a couple of plants for the garden , I love marguerite daisies they make me very happy and always lift my mood....in fact my gardens are packed with all the different types.
I usually pick the ones that look well past their prime and ask for discount, which I always get and after a little attention they look amazing. So thats me today... off to save some daisies!!
As you might be able to tell I love my garden, its my happy place and ive found in the past no matter how awful my day/week/month has been ...it brings me round and makes me smile again, I truly think that a lovely garden is good for the soul and it has been proven scientifically that smelling flowers and pulling up weeds can lower blood pressure, increase brain activity and produce a general upbeat feeling..........so there you go!
Okay I may have bored you to sleep with that rambling, have a happy day
