Haha dancing bananas ..love it x
Good morning
So Ive set myself a challenge ...to make all our main meals within the budget of £5.00(and thats for all of us 2 adults and 4 children) So tonight we are on farmhouse sausage supper, so heres the breakdown.
Aldi Cumberland sausages x 2 packs = £1.80
Aldi Onions =£0.20
Aldi beans x 2= £0.44
Aldi gravy = £0.20
Whoops Coop Cheese =£ 0.50
Mash potatoes =£0.50 Probably over estimating here ;o)( we get our potatoes from a local farm £5.00 for a huge bag, which always lasts the month)
Grand total of £3.64
Last night was a quick cheat tea
Aldi Broccoli pasta & sauce x 4 packs =£1.56
Aldi garlic bread x 3 packs= £1.02
Milk =£0.45
Grand total = £3.03
So quite happy with the savings there, I plan on doing a big shop next week , I will be sorting out some menu plans and sticking to it..ive come up with 24 main meals so far and yes spaghetti bolognaise is in there haha

Hellooo
Took a little longer than expected but ive finally set up the household budget spreadsheet...i put every little thing I expect to be paying out this month and it all looks pretty good so far...though a little scary when its added all up....I just have to stick to it now.
My hubby's pay differs every month due to overtime and bonuses so ive put on the absolute minimum he could be paid as a guide and all monies above that will be used on overpaying the debt.
I have been reading quite a few threads and I like the idea of keeping a daily spending diary( looking forward to seeing where all our money goes!)....i didnt have one so my lovely little girl gave me one she dosnt use, its pink with a sparkly fairy on it but it will do the job ;o)
The kids have worn me out today so its a very lazy frozen pizza tea
Grand total £4.00

I want to get rid of the debt by Christmas too and the mortgage by Christmas 2016.
I've been doing slimming world and may I make a suggestion based on their plan? The jars of pasta sauce sometimes have a lot of sugar in. Now I realise with four children, time is not something you have a great deal of(!!!!) but have you tried making your own pasta sauces in a slow cooker? Bung in a few tins of value range tomatoes, garlic, onion and courgettes, switch on and leave to cook. Whizz up till smooth and bag some for the freezer. I always make loads.
If you don't have a slow cooker try putting a Wanted on freecycle. Try there for plants too. I put a notice for some netting to cover my strawberry plants and got two lots. The garden centre wanted 15.99 - no chance!
Good luck. I hope I haven't overstepped the mark. Another A Called Called Jack fan here. Bacon and Brie risotto, yum
sorry, edited again! I don't know where you live but I think Kellogs are doing vouchers for some free entry to the big theme parks. I think it's one child free. I'm away at the moment but can check when I get home.0 -
Welcome - you've made great progress already, well done
