Spendy day today as bought another lawn mower  the kind I can manage and like, just a wee cheapie, along with 3 garden tools. Made up for it though, as @ldi's specials were 2.5k of white potatoes and carrots and red onions were all 29p (SueP - hope you are taking note :))

Having said that, I just made another o/p - last of the month £49.38 :D

Total o/p this month £336.54 on target :) and keep thinking I won't be able to keep this up for much longer - council tax to be paid now.

  • :hello:

Ive just read your thread and Ive learned a lot along the way...Thank you :) I always thought I was okay with money, turns out Im just okay at not spending it, I am rubbish at making sure its working for me and making the most of bank accounts ect! You have inspired me to attmept to open a new current account this week.

I like my mortgage account tidy too, and hadnt heard of tilly tidying too. I tried it and my mortgage account is now messy, but my current & savings account look amazing. Problem is, I know I cant please both tidy OCDs and now I cant work out which one I want to please more! :rotfl:

You are making amazing progress, good luck!

    :hello:Hi and Thank You

You have some patience reading my diary, thank you for taking the time.

I'm the same as you, was good at not going into debt but at the same time spending it all :( Select your new bank account carefully, I opted for C1ydesd@1e, opened on 30th Nov and still have not received the incentive, however should not be much longer :)

I like my mortgage account tidy, then just recently tried TT, but not for me, so went back to mortgage tidy :j
I take just my mortgage total - tidy that, then next time add on the 2 sub accounts and tidy that, and so it goes on. This really works for me.

So all I can say is do what suits you best and what makes you happy. Will seek out your diary and have a read. Good Luck.

If I was in the position to make small overpayments whenever I wanted I would do it in whatever way made the mortgage smaller. If you save a larger amount TT the mortgage do that as you're saving much more as you're paying off the capital.
I can only TT my bank accounts as I have to repay a minimum of £500 so my
Mortgage is never going to be nice round figure - until it hits zero
