Water Meter reading high on moving house

Hi everyone!
I have just moved house, and let Severn Trent know the moving date a couple of weeks ago. We completed on 5th June and I managed to find the meter on 7th June.
Having just looked at my account on the website, a reading was entered on the 5th June of 2901. On the 7th, the reading was 2794.
The question is fairly simple then. Why would this be miles out? Looking at the meter it didn't look like it had been read recently. I'm assuming it is an estimate? And given that it is much higher, is it better for me to ignore my reading and go with the one that was already on the account?
Thanks
Steve

With ST if it is an estimate the bill will clearly show it is is estinated, you must contact them and tell them the current reading. otherwise you will be billed eventually an additional 2893 cubic metres - 5000 pounds0

Apologies, i noticed a typo, it should have read 2794 (i.e. less than the reading on the STW website). I've updated the first post!
The point being that it is lower than the previous reading they had, not (significantly) higher.0 -
Repeat, is it estimated or an agent reading? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The web account didn't say anything about it being an estimate, so I assume its either a reading given them by the previous when they left or a reading taken by the estate agent (do they do that as a matter of course?)0
