Wotcha Bob! (or should that be 'Ey up me owd duck?' as they say up here.......)
Re your plant pests. Depends what pests they are. Are they aphid/greenfly/whitefly type which are sucking the sap from the leaves, thus making them crinkle up & look distorted.....also sticky as they secrete something gluey? If so, then you can make up a dilution of washing up liquid & physically wash them off. The slight soapiness of this solution interferes with their breathing too, so it's a double whammy for the little b*ggers.
If caterpillars.......lots of scoffing going on, & maybe little cocoons starting in rolled up leaves......unlikely to be hundreds of them, so pick them off by hand & squish.
If slugs/snails, then beer traps, crushed egg shells, used coffee grounds or the best solution, which is going out at night with a torch & Bucket of Doom.
If none of these things, let me know what you think the pests are & I'll think again.

    DawnW - Re Onepoll surveys.
I've had 3 x £40 pay-outs from them since I started doing their surveys, They pay out reliably & the money usually arrives within 2 to 4 weeks, by BACS transfer straight into your bank. I'm not finding there are as many surveys as usual at the moment, but to be fair, I've been slacking a bit with Onepoll & Toluna as I've been busy & they sometimes drop off the list. I would say that 2 £40 payouts in a year is doable, but I've never achieved 3 in a single year. One thing I have found, which may be helpful to you......if I sign in mornings, around coffee time, there will be around 2 to 4 or 5 surveys there as a general rule. However, I noticed that if I sign back in briefly around teatime, there are often others, sometimes as many as 8 or so. This obviously builds points up much more quickly. For me, the most lucrative survey site has been Toluna, but the surveys are a lot longer & they can be very bad at screening you out when you've already completed a lot of the survey. At least 'Ipsos I-Say' surveys always chuck you 10 points or so if this happens.
What I like about Onepoll (apart from how quick the surveys are) is that the £40 payout is cash. As soon as I know it's in the bank, I transfer it straight across to savings, so it's very convenient.
The most frustrating thing about it, is that when you are almost at the pay-out level & have £39.95 in points, you will find that when you sign in, there will suddenly be no surveys, even thought there have been daily surveys for weeks & months. It's very annoying when you only need a measly 5p, but eventually, around 2 weeks later, you'll sign in, feeling cynical, & you will have some & will be able to get that last 5p & claim your money. The first time this happened to me felt like a rip-off, but I imagine they'll have some sort of quota system for pay-outs each month. I have always got my money from them, anyway, & within the time specified.
Hope this is helpful. I'm supposed to be on my way down to the greenhouse but the rain is having a sudden big burst, so I'm killing time till it slackens off a bit.

    Hello All

Bob Thank you for starting us off this morning. Hope ds feels better soon.

We had problems with our internet from Thursday evening till Sunday night, everything either took for ever to load or failed to load altogether  in the end I just gave up on the lot.

The day started bright and sunny but when we returned home it was raining, feeling less guilty about not managing to get the washing on the line before taking the children to the gym club as it would have been wetter when we returned.

A long time ago I did surveys but it all stopped when I project managed our house renovation whilst looking after 2 little ones. I should get back to this, I need to go and investigate which sites would suit me best. I think when I resume it will best for me if I timetable myself slots per day when to look/complete them.

    Evening everyone.

Not been the best health wise over the weekend. Two days off and had plans for the Saturday night for weeks so hadn't put myself down for the Saturday night. Did have a amazing night watching a ska band and the owner (my bosses brother) brought us a few drinks as we haven't seen him in a long time. Bad thing is I'll only have about £50 wages next week :-|

I have downloaded a app last night 'my life list' pretty much a bucket list. It's got lots of things to do, some big some small. I've added a couple of my own to the list so far and added photos and details to a couple of things I've completed so far. Me and my friend have been writing down things we want to do and pricings etc so this fits perfect. The good thing is there's lots of things you could do for free whilst saving for others. So i think this will be a running thing with me now.

    Daily Dfw's
    Free postcode lottery tick
Check emails and Unscribe from a few
    Get clothes ready for tomorrow

    All things Old School
    All meals from stock
plan tomorrow's meal, make packed lunches
Tv plugs etc off when not in use
Oven turned off towards the last part of cooking
Water Vegetacle patch and pots out front
    Recycle bins out

    Home and Decluttering
    Start a charity bag
Sort a bag to put ds1s old clothes in for when ds2 gets older, as they come through the washing
Blinds in bathroom to go up
    Quick tidy round downstairs

    Leisure and Entertainment
    Free Spotify whilst during chores
Once upon a time on netflicks whilst Ironing
At least one chapter from book before bed
Garden fun for the girlies to keep them entertained

    Have a good evening everyone

    Hi Foxgloves
Wow thanks for taking the time to write all that, I feel like I have my own personal gardening expert:T
The bugs are black, & all living on the underside of the leaves. Quite densely clustered. I havent noticed an affect on the leaves as yet, they are nicely green & new shoots, flowers appearing.

BB - Thanks, he seems perkier now, but has drunk so much today, I wonder if its dehydration from too much sun over the weekend as it was so hot here yesterday? Sorry to hear you've had internet problems.

JoJo - Sorry to hear your health has affected your wages. Are you fully better now do you think?
The App thing sounds good. I do think you sound really good at making the best of life. You always seem to focus on the positive, I admire that.

    Debt-free and Proud!
*Runs in, waves madly* I am debt free, yay!!!!

This thread has really been the making of me - my posting has been so infrequent lately, but the DFW wannabe ways have become embedded thanks to the support in the early days, and I've got there in the end. My debt was never at a level that I'd lose sleep over it, but it wasn't really getting smaller either. Then I had my LBM and decided I didn't want to have debt anymore, and that I really had no need to be.

I'll stick around and post when I can and when I have interesting stuff t say - my DFW things are always so dull and low key! Next step is to add to my savings for some needed home improvement then try to be a MFW, though I don't reckon I'll crack that in a while!
