I have been sent a leaflet asking if I want to take this out as an introductory offer for £12 for the year (United Utilities).
-Should I be taking this out?
-Is it already coverd by my home and buildings insurance?
-Do any of you bother with this?
Thank you for your help.

The problem is that the cover is not much cover at all. If the pipe leaks under your house it will cost a lot more than the cover you get. If if goes outside and you have long front garden it would not cover as your drive would need to be dug and repaired.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

You'll frankly get better value out of insurance to cover you if you are hit by a meteorite: many water utilities will give you a one- time free repair anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
