I dared to purchase raw chicken for my lunch with a Walkers coupon! I was taken in front of store manager and informed that chicken was a dinner item and couldn't be eaten for lunch as it wasn't cooked. I explained that I work from home and cook the chicken before adding to a salad! I pointed to all the terms and conditions on the voucher and had the letter with me. I will not be frequenting that store again! In the end they reluctantly let me buy it!
Letter or email to HQ - staff at Asda are supposed to be 'happy to help" - dictating what you can and can't have for lunch is not being helpful :rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Been doing my car insurance today - or at least trying to. Tried various legitimate retweakings:o:o on one of the comparison sites and noticed, one of the companies, when I put £500 as the excess, their premium was still 'too high', putting it at £700 and £1000 did not change that situation. However, when I put it to just a £250 excess, their premium went way down and became the cheapest, yet £100 and £200 gave a higher premium! If, in the event of a claim, I pay the first £500... yet, if I choose to pay £250 instead, it is cheaper?!? Just bizarre.
Just never can tell therefore - maybe people with £250 excesses, for that firm, are considered less risky, whereas ones that choose to pay more, or to pay less, are greater risks. Moral is just never assume that anything is logical: just as comprehensive, bizarrely, can be cheaper than third party fire & theft, sometimes choosing a lower excess can cause the bill to go down (or up).0 -

A v M
7x ASDA Extra Special Colombian Fairtrade Ground Coffee (227G) £20.86 £17.99
BUT I also went to another As afterwards and it wasn't RTC in there. So I guess it's well worth keeping a closer eye on the RTC stuff in ex-nettos.....
I'm totally out the loop but it used to compare at price paid.
Hope all are well  I've not even looked in this week. Instead I've been giving my garden the TLC it has been missing so much these last few months, tying up a few painful loose ends, keeping a watchful eye on a plumber and an electrician(shame it's been so hot  ) and looking at new cars.
Have also made a tentative start on some writing.
Love to everyone :heart2:
Nice to see you posting FC, glad to see you're getting on with stuff ...new car  not very :money:#CHEEKY :cool:0 -

Fwiw, my Galia Melon (which wasn't RTC) was bought in a supermarket (an ex-Netto I think, but not totally sure). Maybe the smaller supermarkets have different BCs and that causes the (in my case unwanted) glitch. That was Galia Melon though - totally different situation to 227g Coffee but, as I said, this is being offered "fwiw" (I'll shut up...).0 -

Hi Kathy, which store was this? I had a discussion with a SA in T's at Cou**y who told me I had to buy what was on the picture on the front of the coupon! I told her that I was making my own sandwich with the bread and tuna in my basket, she wasn't very happy but the supervisor came over and okayed it.0 -

Just had a very heated discussion with OH - trying to do the walkers codes tonight and having trouble getting the capcha codes accepted and then getting the submit button to go - then OH admitted he was downloading magazines
(He is obsessed with railway and plane mags)
We have zilch download speed - main computer just seizes up if anyone downloads anything but they won't admit it when they are doing it - they just let me struggle away on the main computer
So having sworn and cursed the main computer OH scuttles off to stop the download - I was getting code not recognised repeat idly and no submits - lost patience with it and Oh

We ended up getting into a discussion about what constitutes lunch - she was adamant chicken was only for dinner! What a carry on!!! My DH was with me and pointed out that lots of people work shifts and sometimes eat at different times to the norm and would perhaps eat cereal at lunchtime if they had been on nights (not that we had even bought cereal) x She wAs adamant - the only way she finally gave in was when I pointed to the retailer instructions on the back - clearly says any food item!
