:hello:
Now that I've been unleashed in Mr T, I am a danger again (sadly not to them but to myself:( as doing an experimental shop) - oh well, I suppose they need to make some profit at some time (and I've given them nothing at all for several years, though not an excuse to start giving them anything now). We're desperate for 'fresh' fruit, and prices everywhere seem to have risen - opportunistic Mr A today putting up the price online of the Granny Smith Apples (600g were 750g several years ago) were showing £1 last night, now showing £1.25:mad::(.
I tried the T ones at £1.50:eek:. Bigger packs of apples were comparing against straight A pricing several years ago (I remember I got a number of Golden Delicious packs, on a series of shops, that weighed in at nearly 1kg and compared against the straight £1 price back then on the 750g ones in A:T). I didn't expect this to work and sure enough it doesn't. They are 670g in T and 600g in A - just 3g short of the 10% weight range, so 'they won't work' and they don't: I was hoping, at a long shot, for the old £1 A price or maybe I would have got £1.25 price or, as it turns out, nothing at all:( - I suppose I join the 1 pint club and end up roughly paying for my milk instead:(:
1x T. GRANNY SMITH APPLE MIN 5 PACK 670G
£1.50 n/a £1.50 £1.49
1x T. SEMI-SKIMMED MLK 568ML/1 PINT
£0.49 £0.49 £0.49 £0.49
("Win a cow" voucher - :doh:I know I should have bought in A. But one fewer item then needed in T:cool:.)
As Granny Smiths "should" be £1 or lower, before I buy them, and even then are shortchanged nowadays as much lower weights now (600g) than what they used to be (750g), it's as if I bought the milk - at 49p - equivalent for 6 pints is therefore £2.94:eek::eek: rather than £1.29! That's the cost, if not using Win a Cow vouchers, of buying one pint milks instead of 6, even if you buy them (in Aldi or M) at straight £1.29 price with nothing else - that's a huge difference just on milk! As you can see, nearly £3 compared to well under £1.50 more than half the price! Then put that into the MSE tool that works out cost over the year - that's some spending! If you really don't consume enough milk for 6 pints, then surely you could manage with 4? 89p straight pricing - a 3p adjusted overpayment on each one compared to 6 pint, but still a lot less than 1 pint!
"Shortchanged" by a penny as these are showing 78p for A S/P ones on msm (of all irrelevances):
1x T. EDAY VALUE PEARS PACK 500G £0.79 n/a £0.80 n/a
Ah:idea:! I see the 'problem' as they are described as this on a.com:
ASDA Pears
500g
£0.78
However, I thought these might be 16p for A (I didn't remember that their price in A is actually 15p, so ended with 1p:( more than expected - I told you it was an experimental shop) so it works out even though still lost 1p on the non-comparing pears! Or a further 7p as lost the 10%.
1x TESCO EDAY VALUE SPAGHETTI HOOPS 410G
£0.20 £0.15 n/a n/a
(A 395g.)
[Strike]I don't know if this next one is any use to anyone - may be good as a filler on T PP but it's only enriching Mr T:(:rotfl::
This is really 50p in M, but not being picked up as of an hour ago and therefore may be a good filler on a Tvs M shop:D:
1x TESCO EDAY VALUE ALL PURPOSE CLEANER 1LITRE £0.25 n/a £0.80 n/a[/Strike]
[EDIT: 7.26pm: This has already changed and is now comparing against M at 50p:(.]
I see no need for multi-purpose cleaners that cost 75p upwards anymore. No surprise how expensive S Basics version is:eek:.
:rotfl:Mr T said that M would have been 1p cheaper on my shop when it would have been 24p more:
£2.21
Competitor shop total £2.20
The difference
£0.01
cost less
Never mind: I shall take my 8p voucher:( (vs A;)) to Mr T when I do my next shop there, so it will be used (fwiw).
No weight difference, just straight comp. (Tvs A):
1x TESCO EDAY VALUE MARROWFAT PROC PEAS 300G £0.22 £0.19 £0.25 £0.22
Meanwhile, on the Flash all-purpose cleaner, that was 86p in M for about a week, then went up in price to some 'eday low price' but was still sort of an offer price even though W on half price were then a few pence cheaper, I noticed now how expensive the price of those in M was - really high eday low price and still quite expensive mbuy! Certainly a lot more than the 86p that they were for all of the blink of an eye. I think trading down to the Eday version is the way!! Flash still more expensive even on their best offer.0 -
It was just a suggestion...in order to perhaps harmonise everyone...but as soon as I'd typed it it looks as if BB closed the other....
Whether it was right or whether it was wrong doesnt matter really...its surely the elite that matters as a collective..
as a relative newbie to the thread....ive been here almost 2 years perhaps....once and for all henlans what did happen very briefly to cause the upset....perhaps once everyone knows it might help put some of the demons to bed....I get the feeling that you are involved somewhere in the mix....and rather than push it into being discussed in PM's I'm going to ask it in the open....
...and to be honest if it cant be discussed in the open....why is it just being left to fester and damage the collective elite...
Things from the past should be left there we all need to move forward not look back. Times change people change..........0 -

There is no reason it can't be discussed.
We couldn't discuss it when he was PPR'd because he didn't have the right to reply but nothing stopping it being discussed now other than....what's the point?Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
