I have been skimming today but remember reading someone was looking for hotel in Birmingham with swimming pool? I spent a weekend every July for over 10 years staying in the city centre for trampolining competitions and stayed different ones and things changed over those years.

Not sure if they were thinking city centre as 2 hotels that used to have pools no longer do, Crowne Plaza being one, Novotel being other. Novotel still has fitness, sauna and steam room if looking for bit of leisure facility. And you can sometimes pick up a bargain stay there, not sure if you can still exchange CC vouchers for rewards.

I would thoroughly recommend either of the Premier Inns along the canal, cheaper than most hotels and used to be free parking. But last time I stayed was 2011 so that may have changed to. But it is certainly a consideration when making a booking anywhere. EDIT: just checked and seems like parking chargeable now says ring for charges might still be cheaper than some of the others. £35 rooms still available for July.

Hope my waffle has been some help sorry I forgot who asked. :o

Me, thanks tiny. Meeting dd there for a weekend xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

The car temperature said 12 degrees today :o

I've been in a local community centre all afternoon. No heating and for some obscure reason I thought it might be safe to wear sandals in the middle of June.

I am now on the settee with a throw and a hot water bottle. Just can't get warm.

Back me up the NE Coven.........hasn't it been freezing:o

Severe temperature drop this afternoon - freezing and grey. Honest guv.

We only just come in from the garden about an hour ago, literally just closed the doors. Has been a lovely day today - got all my bedding plants in :D

Had DD1 & DD2 and their OHs round for paella. I did 2 different ones, a veggie one with prawns for DD2 and the other with chicken, chorizo and prawns. Used the new A CBY Paella seasoning, comes in a drum. Very nice too.

DD1 is off to Ascot tomorrow, she's organised a coach trip. They doing it cheaply though, self catering with picnic hampers and taking all their own booze. Soft drinks for DD1 :)

Look at my baby next to the wok, think he could smell the prawnage :D

Thanks, Anon. Would this be the same with non Andriod?:o

Kodi can be installed on various platforms including Android and Windows as examples. If you can install Kodi, you can install various add ons that can access various streams online.

I have only recently discovered the wealth of material available and Kodi is only one route to these sources - anyone remember/use CartoonHD app? Streaming is not illegal (Netflix, NowTV, Amazon Prime etc as paid services and free like YouTube would be illegal if it was) though some may have reservations about the ability to access the latest movies for free. From what I can gather, it has been ruled on in the EU courts that viewing streams is not illegal (but saving/downloading content may be). I am sure the debate will continue (and there will be mixed views on here too). There is plenty of content too that can be used with Kodi including your own photos if stored on an accessible drive and official broadcasters etc.

I've just been doing a "stock take" of my freezers and cupboards. Chucked out a load of stuff that was well past its date, but on the whole, the only stuff I need to get in is pasta and black peppercorns and I'm all set for the apocalypse :rotfl:
Got a big bag of black peppercorns RTC on SEL at £1 at Tesco tonight. Too tired to go downstairs & look how many grams & what make. It must have been good though for me to buy it.:o:D

cjj - re the hotel in Birmingham - have you looked on Holiday Extras as many of hotels near can be used for Birmingham Airport. Don't forget they make a price promise of money back after the stay if you can find cheaper!
Hotel 1 night with parking all in for a day.

Confusing (well, not actually, now I see this first one is dated 17th) - semi-skimmed milk comparing then not comparing:(. I've been pretending not to be here btw - just caught up with the entire thread since I mainly "left" on 3rd June:o:o - I know I've not replied to one of fc's posts but long gone now. Obviously as temperamental as it ever was, on the milk:(.

EDIT: Just changed a couple of A prices on the list:cool:. Otherwise, I just thought I'd better highlight that the Satsumas (600g) are now OFF - unless they pick up a wrong price: now £1.49:eek: in M!(:rotfl:_pale_) In fact, not a lot of fruit and veg. items anymore - seems way expensive at the moment and the Sweet Pears have gone up too:(. Also, so much for the Unwashed Potatoes (12.5Kg) offer supposedly being "until 21st June" a couple of weeks ago - they'd gone back up to £4 when I was there on 17th:(.

No inclination to post more than this at this time - I've got to get to sleep!
    Goodnight:wave:.
