I believe their plane is a 757 which is a bit meh if business class is your thing.0 -

Sorry to hear you had problems but as far as I know AA is the only direct route from Man. You could fly to Newark but still have to transfer, probably easier getting off at Phl to save time.0 -

I didn't realise that had changed to a 757, all my journeys between Man and Phl even in Winter have been on the A330. Google flights still showing A330 on the example I gave earlier. I must admit the A333 Business class pods are especially nice if that is your thing. I think the A330's are the Legacy US airways planes.0 -

My apologies if I'm wrong.
I priced it up for a flight for my daughter and spotted 757 a couple of months back.
It might have been a one-off so trust your own research.0 -
No problem PeacefulWaters maybe there have been operational changes. I believe the Man to JFK or Chicago routes were on the 757s with Chicago moving onto the newer 787. I understand your initial comment about flying business on the 757 though;)PeacefulWaters wrote: »My apologies if I'm wrong.

It's been an A330 every time we've been, twice a year, the last time in July.
Looks like we're stuck with MAN -PHL. Now if only the airport could be moved north of the city. Should be a decent drive if ever the damn roadworks finish.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Thanks Dicky, I have just seen your reply, also read this deal on flyertalk about an hour ago but unfortunately back to 2.5k to 3k.
If I had seen it yesterday I may have jumped at £1300, that would give me a shed load of miles also as all flights are AA.
I need to confirm my dates for Easter, I have played around with dates and get economy from Man for £700. Then need to check if I can use my SWU's. Otherwise may consider ex EU if a good deal comes up in J.

Have a quick mooch about on google flights/ITA Matrix and you may get a pleasant surprise.
I've just done a dummy trip DUB-HNL-DUB and its coming out at the £1550ish mark in Business with AA. But quite a bit of the trip will be in Domestic First. This is the quickest route, but you'll be knackered when you get to HNL and some of the flights will be a bit meh.
However, if you ticket it DUB-DFW (via LHR) and overnight in DFW, then DFW-HNL and return HNL-DFW-CLT-DUB
You'll get lie flat seats for nearly all the way, well timed flights and
the chance to sleep in a bed for the longer legs coming back - for £1575ish.
This route will take you longer to get there, but you'll be (fairly) fresh after overnighting in DFW and travelling in 'proper' Business class*** all the way. All on AA
*** DFW-HNL-DFW is supposed to be using retrofitted AA 767-300, but currently some of the older 767 flying sheds are being used as substitutes from time to time. However, by Summer 2017, nearly all the AA767-300s that remain are due to have been retrofitted and only a few 767 flying sheds will remain before they are retired.0 -
I do love this game

Seeing a fair horrendous routing but a nice fare INV to LAS at £267 return in March with BA .
My last adventure included a radar failure in Scandanavia that meant my nice civilized GOT ARN ORD turned into GOT CPH (overnight on airport floor) LHR ORD but for £250 return I couldn't really complain.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Mr Penny had a narrow escape in Charlotte airport last July. Or most of AA staff there should have been singing falsetto. They don't talk to each other.
