Well I did a couple of 13 milers and a 15 and hurt my knees so did a few weeks of 10k s to try and build some resilience. It seemed to work as my last 13 mile was pain freeso now the plan is to gradually up the distance over the next 10 weeks and hope for the best!

They are 850v4. Very comfy I'd recommend them.0 -
I was told to avoid Karimoor.
I currently run in New Balance 860v4
I've had Asics and didn't get on with them. Despite having skinny feet, I found they were really narrow, compared to my NBs, (I'm on my second and third pair) Nikes and Addidas pairs.
I've usually worn my normal size and not had an issue. Apart from with Brooks Adrenaline - 4 was too small and 4.5 is too big.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I'm a fairly new runner, only a few months in but my other half runs marathons. We have a Nike outlet store near us and they have some great bargains in there. It's all about timing for the deals.
Places like run4it will analyse how you run and help find the best style for you using cameras etc. it's free then you can go find the best trainer deal elsewhere if you want. Possibly better if you are a long distance runner and serious about it as running trainers only havea. Certain lifespan for support and grip....other half found the grip out the hard way hehe0 -

Go to a good local running shop. Try on shoes. Get advice from knowledgeable staff in there. Try on more shoes. Find ones that fit perfectly and suit you. Have a run outside in them, if they'll let you. Try on more shoes. When you're happy with them, buy them.
You only have one pair of knees, one pair of feet. No advice from an internet forum is going to tell you what 40 minutes in a running shop will tell you, and this first time, if never again, support a local specialist shop, get their help, range and advice.
With any luck, you'll be running for the next 30 years. Once you've found a brand and shoe that fits and supports you well, then, if you're so inclined, you can look online for deals with that particular shoe.
Of course, you could do all the above short of paying for the actual shoes in the local independent shop first time around, but I think that's a shame, because they deserve supporting. The really false economy, though, is to buy running shoes that don't fit or support you well because 'they're what the others said I should get'. You will know what suits you when you put it on your foot, and your knees will thank you for it.
