will probable find one nearer . it was the distance selling regulations being told to me that i found strange. does that mean no cars can be sold without being seen or is it just Mercedes edinburgh policy
Mercedes Basingstoke does as I did buy mine remotely and then rejected it when I saw the "black leather" seats actually had thick white plastic piping around it.
Obviously leaves them with a now secondhand car and so its understandable why some wont do it.
Mercedes Poole do too but they were more cautious as they sent me lots of photos of it BEFORE registering it to me0 -

All cars rust
If you are 200 miles from Edinburgh OP what about other dealers? If you are in the borders then Glasgow wouldn't be a stretch? There are also places in Perth and Falkirk I think. I'd be amazed if Aberdeen didn't have a dealership too. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

I'm pretty sure if they were in the borders they wouldn't be 200 miles from Edinburgh
Edit - Assuming you mean 'the borders' as in the English/Scottish one.0 -
Yes fivetide you clearly need a Geography lesson.
Manchester is about 200m from Edinburgh.0 -

Good point! Just thinking of a lack of dealerships. I still think the basic point about looking in Glasgow is valid though, likewise other places if the OP is coming from the North.
Mark, any evidence of this 'king of rust' claim or are you still thinking of a e-Class from 20 years ago? I suspect the latter.
BMW rusted just as bad. The wings on the E46 3 series were well known for it.
Since the 90's though, I suspect things have changed an awful lot. You can't continue as a premium car brand otherwise. (By the way those late 90's barges are great as the wings are very cheap and bolt on/off).What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
