He has no obligation sell it to you. He probably doesn't want the sale to be covered by DSR (or is it CCR now) and have you change your mind after 7 days or so and demand a refund.0

why not go and look at it and have a visit to Edinburgh whilst at it. Lovely city.
Merc A classes are not at all uncommon is there not one nearer?0 -
They probably want to sell to a local and keep the servicing business. The man without a signature.0

They dont think it will last the DSR period without beggering up.
They are not that reliable these days, see customers surveys.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
will probable find one nearer . it was the distance selling regulations being told to me that i found strange. does that mean no cars can be sold without being seen or is it just Mercedes edinburgh policy0

I would look for another car, until they can stop them rusting.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

Perfectly understandable, because should you return it under DSR they will take a huge hit on the resale value, since the car will be 'used'. Drive any new car out the showroom and it's worth at least 10% less before you've got it into second gear.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Can CCRs effectively work with online car purchases?
Surely the fact that once the car has been registered with the new owner the dealer would legitimately be able to charge for the loss in value should it be returned. Totally understand why a dealership wouldn't want to entertain pure online sales.0 -
DSRs have been replaced by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (CCRs) allowing the seller to deduct an amount to cover for any diminished value of the goods should handling of such goods go beyond what would reasonably be allowed in the store.0
