Brand New Oven Fault

I bought a built-in oven as part of my new kitchen, which included the kitchen supplier fitting it.
So they just finished installing yesterday, but when I turned on the oven to cook with fan, the fan makes a terrible noise as if its clattering against the metal back.
Ive tried finding on the Manfacturers site and Google about this issue, but haven't found any Ref to this being normal.
If it has a fault, where do I stand? Do I have to accept a repair if offered? Or can I insist on a replacement?

If it was faulty from the start, then you have the right to return it for a refund.
Once you have accepted it by using it for a while, then your rights are reduced. You can ask for a replacement or refund, but they can offer a repair, replacement or refund if that is more cost-effective for them.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thank you for your advice. All functions using the fan are faulty and I've posted 2 videos on YouTube for the kitchen installer to view as well as providing pictures showing the metal burn areas at the back of the oven.
They are sending an engineer out to look at the Oven 'to see if it can be repaired' - whilst I've agreed to this, I'd prefer a replacement as it was faulty from the beginning. Should I allow this visit by the engineer, or simply ask for a replacement/refund straight out?0 -
By accepting a repair this time, you are not losing your right to reject the goods if the repair doesn't work.Thank you for your advice. They are entitled to inspect it to ensure its not user error/ malicious damage etc but you can reject the goods and insist on a refund. Technically you cannot insist on a replacement but assuming prices havent moved etc then you can use the refund to buy a replacement and most will just switch despite it not being your statutory right.
To note, it is the company you bought it from that this right exists with not the manufacturer or anyone else in the supply chain.0
