I often play around with ins quotes - changing car, changing main driver, changing mileage, changing jobs and even changing the address.0

I got quotes on a comparison site using different addresses for my daughter and ended up having to provide detailed evidence of where she was living at.
As suggested above, always use fake details such as a different name, nearby address, slightly different date of birth and enter details of the car rather than the look up from the reg no.0 -

When you do online quotes you do have to declare that you have told the truth.
They do store the info you have given.
Which is why you should use dummy personal details when playing round.
They do have software to spot multiple applications which on occasions flag you as fraudulent and blacklist you!0 -
I don't remember seeing somewhere saying I must declare the truth?
Surly using fake details would mean your not telling the truth?
What if they start storing cookies for these quotes, mac profiling or something like that?0 -
It's not really that crucial when doing dummy quotes. It's when taking out the policies you must be prudent.
As for being blacklisted, not even sure that's legal0 -

Financial Services companies use the services of Hunter http://www.experian.co.uk/identity-and-fraud/fraud-prevention/hunter.html to compare application forms with previous applications to compare the efficacy of the data supplied0 -

Seriously what are they on? I will have to call an expensive number mon-fri probably wage loads of money and time to fix this ridiculous assumption they've made!
Seriously, what are you on? Why would you give all your details to an insurance company, tell them you have three points that you don't and then get annoyed when an insurer picks up on this.
Do you not understand that insurers share information across the industry?0 -

But they weren't giving the information to an insurance company, they were inputting it into a comparison website, a step away from the insurer.0 -

And what do you think the whole point of that comparison site is, apart from to make it simpler and faster to give the details to A WIDE RANGE OF INSURERS AT ONCE?0 -
I just feel sorry for Mr sjdjhs kjhgkjhk who lives at Number 1 Happy Street.
There are probably Police Helicopters overhead chasing down this lunatic.
I really struggle to grasp why anyone would sit in front of a PC and enter genuine ID whilst browsing/searching.
There are a few things for car insurance which should match but absolutely never put your name, email address or phone number (nor even DoB, the Year is enough)
When you reach the end of your search and have made your choice, then do it properly.0
