If you have a router, then ZA is not needed as much, the router does most of the blocking. ZA is handy to know what is trying to talk out, but for most users, this feature is over their heads, they just allow everything when prompted.

I'd stick with the router, and make sure windows firewall is on.

Re plugging in the router .. modem -- ethernet cable -- wan port on router -- router --- ethernet cable -- pc ethernet port.

If the problem happened on other PC's, and they still have ZA installed, then they should still fail if ZA is at fault

Still connected and it's been an hour now. Woo hoo!

As for the modem logs, where do I find them.

Thank you both albertross and espresso so much for your time and patience helping me resolve this. You got this resolved with patience and I owe you a virtual pint or cuppa tea or even an irn bru seen as I'm up here in Scotland. Fried mars bar optional. I've even learned a few things too, and bookmarked a site or two.

Still think it was a fault at their end. What's your opinion?

I'll post the log if you can give me instructions as to how to find it.

Possibly 192.168.1.100 or in control panel, modems, not sure..

difficult to say, I suspected it was their end, but it worked straight after you uninstalled ZA, so who knows.. time will tell.
