Hi just one final question you say do nothing until or if the NTK arrives. That company is an AOS company via IPC and the newbie data suggests to appeal after 21 days. Could clarify why 21 days it will have some significance I am sure. Also if I do nothing at the moment and do in due course receive a NTK what should I do at that point. Just to clarify it was the last letter of the VRN that was wrong but the photos show my correct registration. Sorry for all the questions just want to understand my position. Once again thanks for everyone patience and help.

If the NtK has the wrong reg in it, then your appeal is a simple one. You tell the PPC that you were not the driver of the vehicle in question and you are therefore unable to help them. You, are, therefore appealing on that.
They will reject your appeal. You then appeal to IAS telling them that you do not own or have ever owned the vehicle with the wrong reg.
However, if you get a NtK, then they will have used the correct registration to contact the DVLA and your appeal on that point will be lost unless they !!!! up the details on the NtK0 -

Look, if you appeal stating they have the wrong number now you will be appealing as the driver, as you will show you were there as you had the notice to DRIVER!
Wait for the notice to KEEPER to be posted to you, if they don't realise they made a mistake you don't get it. Or it may be late and not comply with the pofa!
