Looks like all you need to do is set the refresh rate to 60hz and resoloution to 800*600.
Im not 100% sure as im on vista but this is how i would do it on vista, should be nearly the same:
Open up display panel ( right click and properties )
Go to the part where u get the slider and slide to 800*600.
Click advanced, then moniter, then select 60hz from the drop down menu.
as i said thats for vista, i dont have my XP machine with me at the moment, but should be around the same place.
