Just changed over from a 17" CRT monitor to a 15" LCD monitor on my childrens PC.
After connecting the monitor, I get this message when I turn their PC on:-
"'Out of Scan Range
11.1 khz / 69 hz"
The monitor handbook says:-
'The frequency of input signals do not match the F153' (gnr monitor model number)
Connect a different monitor and set the horizontal to some value between 28 to 64 Khz and vertical frequency to some value between 48 to 75 Hz'
The monitor works fine on my own PC I tried to connect my own TFT to it - and their was no still display.
I may have to connect the previous CRT to the PC - but how do I make the'frequency adjustments' as stated in the hand book?

right click on desktop, properties, settings, reduce hz and/or screen resolutionEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Where is the adjust Hz option? I see a screen resolution slider, but thats it.0

A little more hunting would probably bring you to Advanced, then the Monitor tab, which should show Monitor settings/Screen refresh rate. But this tends to vary somewhat according to your video adapter card, so sniff around a bit!

Ive connected the original CRT monitor to the PC - and still get the following message:-
Out of Range
11.1 KHz / 70 Hz
Tried 3 different monitors to the PC - same messages.
Is my kids PC doomed?0 -
You haven't actually said if you followed the instructions to Connect a different monitor and set the horizontal {scan rate} to some value between 28 to 64 Khz and vertical frequency to some value between 48 to 75 Hz.
Set the frequency to 60 Hz, then the screen resolution to 800x600, and see what happens (I don't get an option to set the horizontal scan rate with my video card).

I did - I have now tried 3 monitors - they all display the same message! I turn the PC on...the Windows XP screen comes up, and then a few seconds later, the above message re: 'out of range' appears.0 -
