How long should I wait to see if an offer is accepted before looking at other houses

It sounds like they have no incentive to sell it at the price you have offered and are willing to hold out for a higher offer.
If you really want the place, and it sounds like you do, you have two potential options. You can a) put in a higher offer and hope that it's enough for them to accept, or b) you can play the waiting game and stick with the offer you have already put forward to see if they come to realise that this is the best they can do.
If it's b), then you might as well carry on looking for other properties. Who knows, you might find something that's even better. Whatever happens, there will be a property out there for you, just try not to get too hang up on this one.0 -
The EA just emailed me saying that he put all the offers forward to the seller and he waits for his answer.
I know there are no other offers and he is trying to squeeze more money even if I was very firm saying that was our best and final.
Shall I email back to state again this the final I am prepare to pay for the property or just wait for the vendor's response?0 -

If you know yours is the only offer then wait for the vendors response. Why do you think yours is the only offer? Folk who viewed the house a week or so ago might have now decided to put an offer in on the house. Remember if yours is the only offer it doesnt mean they will accept it.
Good luck!0 -
The EA told us there were no offers. It suddenly appeared another higher offer when we decided to put ours forward.
Thanks Ellie!0
