I would suggest splitting you money (whether evenly or otherwise) as you would benefit from paying off the car (less interest, get rid of debt) but you also need a safety fund in case you have an unexpected issue and need access to cash quickly (house repair etc)
One suggestion, do you work unusual hours (nights etc?) If so, is there any scope for child minding/dog walking for a few extra pounds? Obviously if you can fit it around your working/sleeping schedule!
Just my thoughts anyway, I am enjoying reading the thread, keep it up!12K in 2017 No.029: £7154.37/ 18,000 (40%)

Am really struggling with the weekends now, have found myself about £200 short already adding up this morning, was a really quiet night and only managed £30 to the cab fund.
Target 2 was supposed to start today but I can't see that happening now either, I do have change in various tins I could use to catch up, about £200 worth but don't really want to wreck the tins opening them OR break into them as they would be a nice little extra by the time they all add up at the end of the year....a bit deflated today...x1p a day challenge TIN £106.96/667.95 :T. 270 payments to find.....1p a day challenge BANK 91p/667.95:eek:0 -
C'mon Rome wasn't built in a day. Read any diary you like and you will see we all hit a plateau from time to time. The thing is to not let it derail you. Also, do you have stuff to sell? Maybe too small stuff from the children or toys they have outgrown.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
