Self Select Isa Qestion?

I am thinking of buying shares in 2 separate companys and have them in an Self Select Isa. Is this possible?

If so can anyone recommend such an Isa with lowest outlay costs to run, buy, sell fees etc.

I have looked at Iweb but they now have a £200 initial fee...

Many thanks..

Yes. Mindbendingly risky but definitely possible.

It can be very risky to invest in just a couple of shares. Even the most experienced investors usually spread their risk and invest in funds. As we know nothing about the OPs financial circumstances and risk tolerance, or the shares, it's impossible to comment further on whether it would be risky for them.

Agreed. My first post assumes too much.

If these purchases are part of a well planned, diversified portfolio of investments then I cheerfully withdraw my previous comment.

I suspect that someone who doesn't know if you can have a self select ISA or who cannot research more than one provider is probably taking a mind-bending risk by starting off with two shares!

I think it's fair to assume that someone asking such a question is probably taking too much risk!

Good point! On the other hand the OP might only be investing a small amount in which case it could get spread pretty thin! However your point is right!

Perhaps he has a hot tip:)
  • Thanks guys for the advice... I can afford to fill the ISA allowance with these 2 shares and wait long term so no worries....
