January of this year i foudn that £3000 was deposited into my savings account. Without knowing where this had come from i left it, that and i was told that if i spent it i wcould be prosecuted. 3 days later the money was without my knowledge taken back out of my account, i received a letter a couple of days later from my bank saying that someone had deposited the money into the wrong account and they had taken it back. I rang up and went mad at the bank not that they had taken the money but that they had not informed me beforehand or got my permission to do so. All they could say was that it wasnt my money! 3 Days ago £1000 again was depsoited intot the account again, i did the same and left it, again 3 days later the money was gone. Does anybody know what my legal rights of this are or anythig i can do to stop them keep going into my account without my permission? anyone know what i can do or cant do and my rights. Any help will be much appreciated.:T

Listen to me very carefully you low life degenerates, my question was aimed at the fact that the bank has gone into my bank account without my authorisation and taken the money out! As i said in the post my main concern was that the bank freely took money out of my account not that they shouldnt be allowed to take the money back. What if they would have transfered the money when i was overdrawn, the bank would not be able to take all the money back out and i will be prosecuted, let me ask you all another question, if someone kicked a ball in your backyard would they be ok to climb your gate and just get it back!!! What if someone found out about a transfer someone had sent me, going off this all they would have to do is know my account number and how much and say it was an error and they would have my money. So before you start your rediculous name calling i would read somethign correctly:mad:   :mad:0

So you must of contacted the bank regarding the funds before it was reversed?
You also were notified in writing what had happened and the action they took.
Im sure they are well within their rights to reverse funds like this as mistakes happen all the time and you have been notified accordingly in writing.0 -
The bank only notified me by mail 3 days after they had gone into my account. My main problem like i said is what if this keeps happening, for this to happen once is a big fluke but twice. A Rectal uneducated moron is someone who jumps onto a post trying to get attention by calling people:T My only issue is that there is now someone who knows my account number and has easily convinced the bank to access and retract funds.0

Lol i wish i have 2 kids and a mortgage, the only interest i get is on payday from the wife! I just dont believe the banks should be able to enter your account without first contact, like i said what if someone knew i had money going in and my bank account number it would be easy for them to get it going on how it has the last 2 times. I know its not my money and that is not in dispute, my argument is i should have been made aware before they took the money out then i could confirm.0

Its probably the same person writing the wrong account number on a paying in slip. Not the bank's fault.
You are not entitled to this money and the bank have acted correctly. The most you can do is ask the bank to make sure the person doing this is notified of their mistakes so they dont do it again.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
