.....with all this upgrading, I dont see the point frankly..........

From a customers point of view I tend to agree, but seeing it from the point of view of Santander, I guess its a money saving move. They will be able to cut out a whole IT system and just run the Santander system.

I also speculate that in a couple of months or a year or so they will simply drop the Cahoot brand and tell all the customers they are now with Santander.

i always remember Cahoot fondly. that Cahoot Visa card was one of the best credit cards i ever had
The interest-free period on balance transfers is finally being removed with these latest changes. I am surprised it lasted this long.

So am I Chris... I didn't realise it was still running. I reluctantly closed the card whilst trying to 'tidy' my credit file, and without a partner card to 'seesaw' with it. It'd still be useful for anyone with a Barclaycard or MBNA card who was able to use it as a short term home and then go back again with a good repeat deal. I hope you've continued to make it useful:D

It was very useful until Halifax Clear Flat Rate card introduced a balance transfer fee and cash advance fee at the end of 2012.

Without another card to bounce the balance off, it's only been useful to get an occasional extra month interest-free after a large spend on another card.

They must be confident of being around for a few years yet as my new debit card has arrived with an expiry date 07/20.
