Cahoot online - biggest shake up since 1999.

Forumites who are customers and not aware, here is information about the changes to Cahoot accounts http://email.cahoot.com/campaigns/cahoot/CAH9/CAH10189_JUN_15_HT.pdf .
It looks like the current arrangements are being replaced by the Santander online banking system but with Cahoot branding.
If your not a banking customer, tough as its closed for new business.

I'm in the process of moving to Tesco anyway as Cahoot have removed interest payable on the account.

Not having a mobile app was frustrating but bearable, the interest was the final straw.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I have been with them since July 2002 and only use them now and then.
I'm surprised they have not withdrawn my overdraft facility as it is very rarely used and has remained at £1300 from the time I joined them.

Also I have the Cahoot credit card and again used very occasionally and according to my credit reports it was closed over 4 years ago. I queried this through the various credit reference agencies and Cahoot are unwilling to change the status so remains closed. However the card is still active as was only used a few weeks ago.

Why "tough"? What's the point in staying with cahoot? :undecided

I have a cahoot savings account since 2009,

I fail to see how they can operate when they dont accept new customers, And with all this upgrading, I dont see the point frankly. The current customers they do have wont be using them forever or barely use their service as it is.

I wonder what the likes of Cahoot, Intellegent Finance and St James' Place are wanting to happen. None accept new customers (apart from SJP savings accounts). Are they just waiting for every customer to leave so they can close down ?

It costs me nothing so for me every point in hanging around. Their overdraft rate for me is 10.3% and credit card is 11.4%.

Very rarely used but there for the taking,.

Santander already own Cahoot so they can just absorb...they aren't likely to sell the Cahoot customer base to another bank, are they?

and if you don't need to borrow on the OD or CC MABLE, then why? you could be using accounts that make you some money:)

I thought at one stage they were planning on re-branding Cahoot in line with their online operation in Europe - Openbank. Is that not now on the cards?
