Random New Build Question

Hi all,
This is a totally random question, which is based mainly on the fact I keep having a recurring dream where this happens...
Basically, we were able to pick the kitchen and tiles in our new build which is due to be finished in a few weeks, and we go to do the home demo/snag on 18th June.
If the kitchen is not the colour we picked - what can we do? Can we ask them to replace it? Or do we just have to deal?

Dont worry, it will be the kitchen units and worktop and tiles that you picked!!
Anyway, there are surely worse things that could happen than that!0 -
Oh I completely agree, but this recurring dream is bothering me! What's annoying is, in the dream, I don't even notice for 3 days!!

These are the things that keep me awake too, the joy of new builds! I am sure, worse case scenario there would be some way to rectify the error. Especially if you have proof of what you chose and when..depends on the builder though I guess and how pleasant they are feeling!0

Sounds like you will get the correct colour\design you asked for, but within a week you will be disappointed at your choice. Although to everyone else, it will look perfect.

Pop into the show home/office ask them to dig out your paperwork and show you the tiles and kitchen you have ordered, so that you can "choose some curtains" or "match some furniture" take pictures of the tiles and units, also keep a copy of the build sheet with the choices on, take a picture of the name/code of the tiles and units you are looking at. Check against build sheet.
If they stick the wrong ones in, it's their problem and they will have to fix it, which may be inconvenient but won't cost you any money.
Although it won't happen!Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0 -
When we made our choices, I asked them to photocopy our signed choices form, so I have proof of what we chose.0

So, apparently I'm psychic. Have been to look at the house today, and the kitchen is the wrong colour - not what we chose. We went into the sales office and they have checked the paperwork confirmed it was not what we had chosen. They are going to speak to the powers that be tomorrow and let me know what they can do.
They did ask me to say if i was willing to accept an offer of something or if I was adamant I wanted to correct kitchen. I said I couldn't answer without knowing what they were going to offer.
What would you do?? Any tips? What could they possibly offer?0 -
I'd always stick with what I wanted in the first place or I'd regret it later, whatever the 'offer' ... but that's just me ...
I'm also buying a new build. Can I ask - were you given a time scale of the build when you first signed up? Cos I've got nothing and it's starting to worry me a bit. Some of the staff say it could be finished in October and some of them say it'll be Spring next year

Well presumably they will offer you a percentage of what it would cost them to rectify the mistake

I've got a 3 month window (Dec/Jan/Feb) but they have to say it could also be 6 months more than this to allow for delays. Hoping to be in for Christmas!0
