Humax Freesat PVR problem

Sometimes the Freesat boxes will revert and lock into single LNB mode if at any time only one cable was plugged, this might require a full reset to fix.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

:j Did the factory reset on the new machine (only two recordings) and it's both fixed the problem AND the recordings are still there.
Huge thanks. :T
I'll move the older one upstairs and use the newer one (back to two signals) downstairs where we are more liable to want to record two channels at once / or watch one channel whilst recording another. I'm still a bit wary of doing the reset on the older machine and lose a whole load of 'precious' programmes. Stupid... I know!
I can stop being annoyed now. Thanks again. :j0 -

Thank for that - did the reset and it worked. I'm so grateful for the advice on here.0 -
I bit the bullet last night and did the factory restore on the older machine and the problem has been fixed. And yes, the recorded programmes are still there.
Thanks0 -
Glad you got it sorted0

Just an addendum to my last post - the recordings are intact but the recording schedule has been wiped. It's not a problem but just wanted to add to the body of info.0 -
Too late I know but if others are worried about losing recordings and read this then assuming it's a Foxsat HDR like mine you can copy the recordings across to a usb drive although it is an inordinately slow process and takes up a lot of space.
There is also custom firmware - https://www.avforums.com/threads/media-file-server-bundle-for-the-foxsat-hdr-release-4-part-5.1829374/ which provides a web interface and allows download from a browser. Encrypted HD can only be played on the original box though (not sure if that is box + hdd or if the recordings could survive a disk swap).
I've pulled stuff off in the past and run it through a video converter program to cut down on storage space,0 -
Kwikbreaks , gers has Humax 100S's no custom firmware AFAIK. However on the Foxsat HDRs with the custom firmare and the fix for HD do stop it being encrypted, but then you have change the file to get rid of the annoying text descriptions if your DLNA client can't de-select it0

Yes I see that he quoted that further down and I hadn't read it. Although I've put the custom firmware on I don't usually pull stuff down from it and haven't investigated any patches to get around the encryption. TBH it's simpler and quicker to download elsewhere.0
