Reading through that it looks like they havent got a clue.

    the page is headed up
    Fines

    it then lists
    1: Penalty charge notice

there are several offence types that give rise to potential action and subsequent fines, some examples of offences are:
    - parking where prohibited
-over staying a free parking period
    -stopping in a box junction
    -driving in a bus lane
    -failure to pay congestion charge
where Alphabet pays a penalty in order to prevent escalation of costs , this will be recharged to the customer / hirer

    and on it goes.

a private parking charge falls outside of this as
1: it is not a fine or a penalty therefore the whole document is not valid
2: its not a penalty charge notice

  • Thanks half way - I think I need to educate myself some more on this. I am clear that this isn't a "fine", but my assumption was that it is a penalty charge notice (the letter from CP plus titles it "Charge Notice"), I need to look up the different between a PCN and a private parking charge then I think.

Apparently the fact that PCN has the same initals as PCN is just a co-incidence.
likewise that parking charge notices look and sound similar to penalty charge notices this is all an amazing co-incidence or at least thats what I think the BPA said, not intended to cause confusion at all

I think Alphabet need to completely rethink their T and C when it comes to parking charge invoices, but not sure how collectively we can get that to happen.

I bombarded them with emails when I thought I was going to receive a parking ticket (camera) and they kept reiterating how they would pay it when received even though I was asking them not to

turned out the ticket never arrived so i didnt get to test wether they would have paid or not
