Unless you get the phones unlocked - then you're obviously restricted to whatever the network offers for US roaming.
Personally, I think that the £15 3payg offering is one of the easiest to set up, as you can do it all here.
You can probably get something when you're over in the US that would work out cheaper, but again, there is a reliance on having the phones unlocked, then the faffing around of actually getting the sims etc.0 -

You will need to request the unlocking from the relevant networks or you can only use your original network SIM cards in the phones.
You can check your eligibility (and request it) online with EE:

I think you will need to phone Tesco, I haven't seen an online page to do it.====0
