Last time I picked up a HH was a few years ago at the start of the M74 leaving Glasgow. It was chucking it down. Anyway he had made it that far from Fort William and was heading to Cardiff I dropped him at services near Manchester. He was a nice bloke worked with disadvantaged kids on outdoor activity type things. At Southwaite services we shared a table with a very deluded man, believed that the security services were watching his every move. Still keep my eyes open for HH's when I'm doing a solitary long diatance drive. There are definitely fewer HH's. I think fear has trumped actual risk.

I always try to pick them up as I live in a rural area. You never know when you may need the favour returning.
