App Killer - Android

Why do you want to stop these apps running?
They don't actually use any battery or processor time once they are dormant.
Not sure if this article explains properly or not, couldn't be bothered to read it properly but it should give you an idea.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
Don't use task killers on Android. I really can't see the point of the Fast Reboot app. If you want to restart the phone turn it off and on again. If you have an app causing an issue remove it.0

With F/B messenger, I don't want to get a 'pop up' when someone messages me, but can't stop it!

Can't you just turn notifications off in settings of the FB messenger app?

1) It is a myth that background applications don't take RAM and CPU on Android. If you open a shell and type "ps aux" or "top" you'll see that they do take both memory and CPU. But the real issue on Android is:
2) Some system services are necessary and you need root to kill them anyway.
Non-system apps (e.g. the ones installed from Play Store) can be safely terminated.0 -
There is no need to keep force stopping apps unless they cause an issue. If an app is not used it is basically put to sleep in the background and will use up minimal resources.
If an app is chewing through resources when you aren't using it then a force stop may reset it so it doesn't any more. If it keeps doing it I would be removing that app because it is not working correctly.
If you are stopping apps to prevent notifications then just turn off the notifications for that app. If there isn't an in app setting it can be done in the app section of the settings menu.I haven't rooted, just bought from Google, so it isn't rooted ... is it??Yea, but some keep 'un-terminating' themselves!0 -
