That's very true. I suspect many JCP staff have a chip about it.Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0

Another friend of mine had taken some sort of insurance in case of redundancy but one of the conditions of monthly pay outs was her signing on to JSA. Her insurance pays some percentage of her salary for I think 2 years but the hoops JC made her jump over were unreal.... CV writing skills, basic computer skills, basic interview courses etc etc etc for someone who was on like 80k + per year most of her life - that was not helpful at all..0

I know the JC have "courses" on things like that, but I just said I didn't need any help and refused them all. They were never mandatory. Although after a few months of signing on I did have to go to one group thing which was sort of an overview on CVs, where to find jobs and stuff. Very boring and pointless lol.
The Work Programme did that more and they were mandatory.
In my experience, the Work Programmes are far worse than the JC for forcing you to do useless things and jump through hoops. Worse still, they're quite happy to claim money for nothing and chase after people and employers until they get the information they want.0 -

Would they have needed to claim JSA after receiving 80K a year. Plus the fact also you mentioned a monthly insurance payout against redundancy was also imminent. Does seem a crazy rule that even millionaires are entitled to claim JSA if they want too.0 -

Have you actually read my post? Yes, she needed to prove she was signing on , this was the condition for her to receive the insurance payments.
I do not know if she was claiming past the 6 month of contribution based JSA but she is still signing on, a year after she lost her job - or her insurance payments would stop.0 -

That's why it's called contributions-based JSA.
Indeed many countries only have this, whereas in the UK most JSA claimants are on income-based.Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. But in other countries contribution based is much higher as it is based on contributions exactly - the more you contributed the more you get. Much better systems.
Here the level is the same regardless if contribution or income based and that is just wrong.0 -
