ANPR Ltd.

After Enfield Freddie's little contretemps with ANPR over the weekend, I took it upon myself to go and visit the ANPR Ltd. website, where I saw this:
"Accreditation
ANPR Ltd. is UKAS ISO 9001 accredited and registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office)"
This was interesting, as in one of my past lives I used to implement ISO 9001 certified quality management systems for organisations; and ANPR's claim did not seem correct... So I wrote to UKAS to ask them about the accreditation of ANPR Ltd. Here's their response:
"Thank you for your email.
First of all, I would like to clarify that UKAS does not accredit any organisations to ISO 9001. However we do accredit Certification Bodies to certify to this standard. Normally when a company has been certified to ISO 9001 by a UKAS accredited Certification Body they would display this on their website clearly identifying who the issuing Certification Body is.
The statement on ANPR Ltd’s website is incorrect and misleading as it is not possible for UKAS to have ‘accredited’ them to ISO 9001. It is not clear whether they have actually been certified by a UKAS accredited Certification Body. I have therefore copied this email to our Customer Feedback department to investigate further.
Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me."
I've asked to be kept updated with the results of the investigation...

@ Zero Gravitas - thought this was the case for some time and many car parking companies cite this accreditation.
If you have the time and inclination to do a formal complaint to all of them..0 -
Maybe a complaint to the ASA (Advertising Standards) should also be made.0

car parking MANAGEMENT is needed in the UK , and most people will accept it.
HOWEVER , post 2012 and new laws being imposed , things changed , it allowed the owner/driver an appeal system , followed by an INDIPENDENT appeal system.
some operators think they are above the rules , flaunt them repeatedly , are removed from there ATA but continue,
the only way to continue , is by saying things like "trespass", and are not members of a ATA , therefore no appeal system.
Companies like this need to be closed down and banned from operating in the UK
this applies to all companies that break the rules , not just the one mentioned in this topic
(and a gun was held at my forehead as I wrote that!)0 -
Oh dear, not so clever Trevor shown up as a LIAR yet AGAIN !!!
I wonder if he'll go running to the police again like the big cry baby he is ? :rotfl:
Note to Trev - Sussex Police is who you need for me.

Today, a further response from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on this matter:
"Further to the email below I can confirm that we have logged this matter as feedback into our database under the unique reference xxxxxx.
We will be contacting ANPR ltd shortly to request the removal of this and any other reference to UKAS from their website. Should they ignore our request we will escalate the matter to Trading Standards and the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) as necessary.
Please be assured that we will make no reference to you in our correspondence with ANPR Ltd and we are committed to ensuring that this incorrect phraseology which has the potential to cause confusion and mislead is corrected.
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention and if you have any remaining questions on this matter please do not hesitate to contact me."
ANPR's website can be found here: http://www.anpr-ltd.com/ As it stands, it is still showing the confusing and misleading wording in the "Accreditations" section of the homepage.0 -
Owd Trev's world is imploding. Wonder what he'll have left. Maybe he needs to get back to working on his 'ANPR in a Box'. All those wasted algorithms. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
