Mine went unused for 9 months without issue. Forgot to even tell them I was going abroad the next time but still worked fine.

Do people find this card reliable?
I've always taken cash when I go abroad, and changed it into the correct form before we've left.
We're going to Spain/Marbella in August, and i'm contemplating seeing if myself or OH might be able to get this card, but I don't want to be left stranded by it not working.

Just been in Madrid for a few days. No problems at all. Paid a hotel bill. A couple of shops. Ticket machines on the metro.. all OK.

First time I've used this card in Spain and I didn't tell them in advance (never do).

Cards can always get blocked. So have backups, and don't run yourself right out of cash.

As an alternative to using ATMs on withdrawals, you can get Euros at SOME airports from MONEYCORP machines free of charge, but you MUST choose the "without conversion" option.

I've got a Clarity card which I haven't used since last holiday in December 2013. I've just checked and it's still active so I'm wondering whether I should start using it and if so, can you make feel free cash withdrawals in the UK as well as abroad? At what point is interest payable? It's that long since I last used it I can't remember lol

I've just tended to use my clarity a couple of times a year when I go abroad and not use otherwise. Not had any problems with the card left a few pounds in credit most of the time.

Actually I wondered if anyone had been offered cashback on clarity. I've currently got a deal for cash back at between 0.5% and 1.5% depending on spend up to £2000 per month but haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else.

Yes, assuming that "feel free" = "fee-free".
At what point is interest payable?
From the day when you make a withdrawal. It's fee-free, not interest-free.

    Mine gets unused between holidays.
I usually tell them where I'm going a week before.
Not had any issues, touch wood.If I was going to Greece I'd take cash mind :)

You can tell Halifax Clarity card that you are going some where, some time in the future etc

Do you have a current account with Halifax? If so, a Halifax Reward current account into which you pay at least £1K a month, could gain you £5 a month for the current account use and £5 any month that you spend at least £300 with the Clarity card. £5 for a £300 spend equates to 1.6667% cash back. Any spend above £300 could be put through the other (Barclaycard?) account.

The Clarity card is a great card. I have one which I use pretty much exclusively for travelling abroad. I would definitely try and keep it
