    Quick question
I may be served notice as I have been interviewed for the positions and now most l will be unsuccessful. there are jobs within the company with slight dIfferences but in starting times and the jobs are online for us to search. My manager has told me x jobs are available but ( this is the crucial bit) he has not offerred me the job and I have to apply for it myself. If I dont apply to the job for my personal reason, HOW could I be regarded as refusing the job as I have not been offerred it but it's there in the ether. would I forfeit redundancy payment?

Had my last consultation and opted for redundancy...there were alternative jobs but not suitable for my circumstances in my opinion. I Have been served notice and been explained my redundancy package. My manager still recommends positions even though they are not suitable. What would I need to do if they refuse the redundancy near to the end of my notice period?

They are supposed to keep looking for suitable alternatives.

If they find one and offer then it is down to discution and ultimately a ET if you can't agree.

Don't forget they have the golden ticket that you can't refuse, your old job back.

The only way round that one and against the we found you a job is counter notice which has quite strict timings that you will need to read up on.

I have just been through a similar situation, if the job is suitable it should be offered without the need to apply, if you have to apply, your redundancy cannot be held back by you not putting in an application for the position.
