Eve memory foam mattress

I went for the Eve as a replacement for an aging Dunlopillo that was causing me to wake with back pain. For 10 years I'd slept beautifully, but it had lost its mojo and I didn't really want to spend £1500.
It was a bad decision. For a side sleeper this is definitely NOT a good mattress.
You don't so much as get into bed as get onto it. Lying on my back reading it is definitely comfy, because the top layer is squishy. However, the foam beneath it is so firm once you've sunk into the top layer it's like sleeping on a board. You can't roll over either, you have to sort of lift up and reposition yourself.
From a legal point of view I'm not sure how Eve can get away with removing any reviews of fewer than 4 stars from their website because this is not a genuine representation of customer feedback.
Be warned - these are not the ultimate in mattress comfort. The advertising is very clever and the 5-star reviews disingenuous, if not actually misleading.
I will put my own review on their website, but will expect it to be removed and will report here when it happens. I will also return this mattress and probably end up with a bill for £1500 as I really, really miss my Dunlopillo...0 -
Thanks that's really helpful. I think I'll give the Eve a miss after all.
The rolling over comment is particularly helpful - hubby already turns over like someone flipping a pancake, not rolling over, so I don't need more of that!!0 -
thanks - definitely worth the money then Moneysaver?0

For me yes it is worth it. The delivery was quick, it comes vacuum packed like many other memory foam mattress'. You need to unbox it lay it on the bed for a least 6hrs before using it.
Not sure how long it will last but only time will tell.
There is a slight smell from it but it was gone within a week.

Are Eve the same as Hyde & Sleep ? Or maybe Leesa ? They all look very similar : http://www.hydeandsleep.com/
I got an email from Hyde & Sleep advertising their products, which is strange timing as I was looking for a mattress and contacted a few places with questions over the last few days, I am guessing one of those companies must have passed my info on to them, too coincidental.
I am stuck which one to go for, there is Eve, Leesa, Hyde & Sleep, Ergoflex, and Memory-Mattress.co.uk. I am almost 30 stone so need something that can hold my bulk. My head is in a spin, so many to choose from.0 -
There's also https://www.simbasleep.com as well now.
I have just purchased a mattress from these guys so will see how it goes.
Finding real reviews for these mattress seem a bit light on the ground. However, Simba is sold at John Lewis.0 -
I just came across this firm today as they had an advert on PBS channel. I was a bed retailer for over 30 years and fought like mad to have dual pricing disallowed but was singularly unsuccessful. It still continues and so long as the retailer can justify it having been on offer for 28 days then as far as I know ,no law has been broken.
I noticed The company John Lewis has been mentioned and I would concur that this is the most honest company to deal with. Please ignore the ridiculous discounts being flouted across the bed trade and indeed most other trades as well.0 -
Well, its a good choice to go for eve memory foam mattress, if it provides a latex on top layer. A fully foam mattress can be too soft, resulting in sinking. It can also result in overheating, finding yourself drenched in the pool of your own sweat. Good to go for a mix – memory foam and latex on top. Experts recommend latex to be the best mattress for pressure points, joints and back ache.
I haven't heard much about Eve mattresses, but as they provide a 100-day trial period, you can know whether this mattress suits your back and joints. Even, I do have the same doubt as yours; so what's the profit they earn, if every people try it for 100 days and then return. May be the mattress is too good that, nobody returns the mattress back. Will hope for good results.
When comparing the reviews, Eve mattress has a pretty decent position. Users have reported with less motion transfer. It has been an excellent pressure relief for many users. The cons are that the mattress has off-gassing issues. It also lacks edge support, which is a big problem for heavier people.0 -

Hi Phil,
How are you getting on with the Simba mattress from Simba sleep?
I quite like the idea of a spring and foam mattress, but I don't believe around half of the claims they make on their website and other marketing on Facebook and so on. (It also drives me mad now as it just doesn’t stop following me around!)
I did some digging, and Simba mattress, or Simba sleep ltd, are a company that are only months old according to records from UK’s companies house. Yet they keep using this line to infer they have been here a long time which I think is intentionally deceiving and designed to make you think they have a long standing reputation – anyone else seeing this: “SIMBA, Since 1971” How's this possible??
I also see that only last week they have been hit with a fine from the Advertising Standards Authority for intentionally misleading and deceitful advertising and told never to make these claims again – see below:
https://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2016/8/Simba-Sleep-Ltd/SHP_ADJ_339914.aspx#.V8hC32W7fjA
As you can read from the ruling from the asa on the link above, they have made some exceptional claims that are completely untrue and intentionally designed to deceive customers - which in reality are a complete and utter load of nonsense. Therefore, I can’t quite believe that John Lewis are stocking these mattresses – maybe they aren’t aware of simba mattress being caught telling lies as of yet?
I’d really like to know more about the whole claim (and any others) they have just been fined for making as without this they are just another mattress business peddling quackery served up as scientific genius. Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks,

If you're that bothered, why not send the link to John Lewis and ask them for their comments?0
