Eve memory foam mattress

  • The Eve Matress had numerous positive reviews which it still publishes on its website which all refer to its' launch construction which included a generous natural latex upper layer.
    This is no longer supplied!
To me this makes it far less good value for money, as its still retailed at the same price!
It also raises health issues as natural latex is naturally hypoallergenic, while there have been numerous issues raised concerning chemicals used in the manufacture of memory foam.
  • I fell for the slick marketing and also the reviews, a few were not pleased but at least they were honest about it....then! Now all reviews are 5 star, not honest. Anyway, we ordered 2 mattresses, one was a double to go on a double base, the other a super king to go on a bed with slats. Double arrived first, it is a small room, omg the smell after a few days, very chemical. Quite comfortable but one of my rings caught the weave and by slightly pulling the thread, well the top almost had a massive rip in it, super delicate. Anyway, we made it, daughter happy so we ordered the super King one. Again dreadful smell, after a few week the middle of the mattress developed a hump, where we both lay it had sunk and we are not overweight. This mattress is totally unsuitable when you have a bed with 2 separate slats. We sent it back. We kept the other double, still stinks so we leave the door open, it has been 6 months!
  • Thanks for the heads-up here, I hadn't realised they had completely changed the construction of the mattress, now it seems less remarkable.

Any suggestions for a good quality but low cost mattress?

I got one of these mattresses a few months ago. I didn't like it, really not as comfortable as I'd thought and it smelled really chemical like which put me off. I asked for a refund and after trying a little bit to get me to stick with it they issued a refund. So from that point of view they were fine. But comfort wise not convinced. However I don't think memory foam style mattresses are for me and I prefer more traditional mattresses.

Hi, yes same here - i didn't trial it, but tested it in their own London office, quite chemical smell, you're right. I felt the same, not comfy enough at all considering their big claims. the feeling was exactly like the cheapest silentnight memory foam I tested in habitat.

Looks like they are about to launch - currently only selling in Scandinavia at present. I can't see they are linked to any other companies.

As an update - I bought a Leesa mattress since it seems similar to what the Eve was. It arrived today and I will give it a whirl.
  • This is an old thread but we have just bought a new mattress.

We spent a couple of days going round testing various mattresses, including memory foam.

We ended up settling on a sprung mattress with a latex "pillow top". I have to say it is wonderful.

So, to anyone who is looking for a new mattress, there is plenty of bed shops out there, go out and try out mattresses, get a feel for what you are comfortable on, lay on it properly, try it on your side and on your back, only then can you make a decision.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

just come across this thread googling Eve reviews as I was really considering buying one....now not so much. I was prepared to spend the money on it (they're not cheap are they!!?) but now I'm wary.

I have a memory foam mattress I bought about 4-5 years ago. Hubby's not impressed with how it's a bit dipped in places. For me it's the fact that unless it's a cold night I hideously overheat. It wasn't a dear mattress and I do like the comfort of it. but the heat issue is awful.

Can anyone suggest something similar that won't cause me to feel like I'm going to spontaneously combust almost every night please? Hubby has back issues so we need something supportive. Thanks

We had a Kaymed memory foam mattress for 10yrs. It started to go lumpy & sag, It served it's purpose & I think it was good value.

We bought another memory foam mattress from this company last year https://www.ergoflex.co.uk/ It is great to sleep on & is a lot cooler than our old one.
