Just a minor query... If you don't complete on your sale until the day after you complete on your purchase, how would the vast majority of buyers pay for that purchase without using the money from the sale...?Okay, I understand. So the entire chain moves on the same day? In my head it would make sense to stagger the moves so each link is given 1 day to move. Perhaps that's unreasonable for long chains.
If there's six links in the chain, the person at the top hands their keys over on the Monday, to the person below who then hands their keys over on Tuesday, to the person below who then hands their keys over on Wednesday, to the person below who then hands their keys over on Thursday, to the person below who then hands their keys over on Friday to the FTB at the end. Does the money then finally arrive on Friday with the person who moved out on Monday?
What happens if there's a seventh link, taking people over the weekend? Or a mortgage offer gets pulled during the week...? Or somebody keels over whilst having the keys to both houses...?0 -
The seller who is moving out of their house on your Tuesday probably cannot move on the Tuesday as they need the money from the person who is moving into their old house........on the Wednesday???
I would never hand over my keys if they had not given me the cash for the house!!!
Your method would not work!0 -
Ah, I see, the payment obviously can't be staggered.
Thanks for the responses- I knew I was missing something.0
