Hi All,

I have a coprate Mobile phone were I took my mobile number too. I am now leaving the company and moving abroad so want to keep my number and I will be giving to my mum. I am looking for a Pay As you Go Sim which is resonable all round for making call to other networks and landlines. My mum will not be using text.

Does any one know of a good all round pay as you go provider. I've been looking around and all the tariffs are so confusing.

Many Thanks
O

You need to estimate how many minutes, texts etc you use each month to enable anyone to guide you.

As it will be for my mum, she wont be using and text and probably about max of 90 minutes of calls a month cross network and including landlines.

Tesco Mobile on the O2 network, Extra tariff which means all calls to landlines and mobiles are 10p/min but you would need to top up at least £15/month otherwise calls are 20p/min but will revert back to 10p/min when you next top up at least £15.

O2 have online payg tariffs at the moment based on how much you top up each month but relevant to what you said for £10/month you can have 100 mins offpeak (7.30pm to 7.30am weekdays and all Sat/Sun), or for minimum topup of £15/month you get 100 mins anytime or 150 mins offpeak. The problem with this free minutes is that you may find your balance is growing each month if you only use your free calls. http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/paygo/o2onlinepaygotariffs

T-Mobile have Everyone tariff which calls are 15p/min.

So looking at what you require it would seem you would need to spend at least £15 per month to get 90 mins cross network and landline calls unless you can do it all offpeak then O2 online offpeak tariff would cost you £10/month.

Maybe someone else can offer some additional advice.

Asda have a simple PAYG tarrif , basically the first 3 mins of call that day are charged at 16p p/m, then calls for the rest of the day are 8p p/m to all networks and landlines.

Texts are 10p for the first 3 that day then 5p for the rest of the day

    Days are 00:00 to 23:59

You can also keep you number

Looks like Asda is having problems ...

Bought a PAYG sim card on the 8th, and immediately gave them my PAC from Orange in order to keep my number - was then told it takes 5 working days and I would have my number ported on the 15th.

And yes on the appointed day my Orange service stopped around 13:00 and my my old number HAD INDEED BEEN TRANSFERRED TO MY ASDA sim card.

BUT FROM THAT TIME I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS APART FROM CALLING THE ASDA HELPLINE NUMBER.

THEIR RESPONSE - "WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS PLEASE GIVE IT 24 HOURS"

JUST TRIED TO CALL THEM AGAIN - A RECORDED MESSAGE FROM THEIR PROVIDER VODAFINE SAYS "PLEASE CALL BACK WE ARE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES"

AS ALWAYS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !
