neighbour has screwed new fence posts to my garage on the boundary

My opinion was based on the fact it seemed obvious there didnt seem to be a lot of point discussing with a man that would happily render a side wall of someones property and attach posts to it
The op doesnt give the impression that face to face discussions are going to do a lot of good , this chancer needs explaining in simple legal terms
If op can sort with discussions , great , hope he can/does
And what does facepalm mean , are you 12 ?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
It's not obvious at all. If the wall is on the boundary he can do what he likes. Even if it isn't some people don't realise they can't just do what they like to someone else's wall.
A simple discussion would provide all the answers needed to bring the issue to a peaceful conclusion.
Getting solicitors to write letters will only end in dispute, which the OP would have to declare when selling the house. 0 to 100mph is seconds, and definitely not needed at this stage.
Oh and facepalm...
Because that's what your ridiculous suggestion made me do!
And no, I'm not 12... are you?0 -

You're twisting what I said.
I said to go round there initially and speak to them. Tell them the garage will be demolished. If that fails and they don't remove their fence post, at that point put it in writing so they can't ignore it. If they still ignore the letter then take it down yourself and give it them back - surely doing that is better than watching it get turned into matchsticks when demolishing the garage.
Honestly, paying for a solicitor to write a letter before even speaking to the neighbour is !!!!!!.

If the neighbour's garage was detatched from yours before it was moved, he has no right to;
Attach anything to it,
Grow anything up it,
Paint or stain it,
Allow animals to jump against it,
Allow ball games or other methods of damage to occur.
