I stuck mine on on a Thursday, accepted offer on Saturday, with relief. Straight off the market. No more need to keep it immaculate, no need to buy cut flowers, back to being a slob, with a half-bottle of (cheap) wine on the table. Cats can sleep where and when they want (and so can I).
Last thing I want is more viewings. Happy with the price, and with the buyer (so far).
ditto spent a couple of weeks getting my flat looking as sparkling as possible.
flat went on the market saturday morning had 6 viewings that evening and 2 the following day and had 4 offers by bank holiday monday so accepted that and went back to being able to not constantly tidy up etc.
then got a curve ball today when the buyer has said they want to have a look with "their uncle" this week so back to being tidy and hiding all the bodies again.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Seems obvious to me that if you pop along and make it clear you'll offer a decent amount more than the current buyer the owner will be only too happy to let you view and make a better offer. No one's going to turn down extra cash, when hundreds / thousands are involved.
You can then proceed in peace, apply for your mortgage, pay for your survey, employ your solicior, and hope to god that the day before you Exchange some dumbwit doesn't come allong an offer a significant amount more. Because guess what? The buyer would be mad not to......0 -

It sucks when you miss an opportunity, but other houses will come along, good luck in your search!
I would agree with this, bit annoying but that's life sometimes.
Of course you could go and see them, and they might accept your higher offer, but i would always be worried that if they have done that once, why wouldn't they do it again to me for a few £K more.0 -
One third of sales fall through for one reason or another. You could perhaps stick a very polite note through the door asking them to consider you if for some reason their sale doesn't go through.Make £2025 in 2025

If I was the seller I wouldn't be too happy with you turning up on my doorstep higher offer or not I would turn it down. Who knows how many times you could just turn up during the selling process. Obviously they are happy with what they have got and it isn't always about the money. By all means send a letter if you want but don't turn up could come across a bit intimidatory/desperate neither quality is good.0

I've not read all the comments but if I were you OP, I'd leave my contact details in a letter with the vendor. At least then if anything happens on the sale, you might still have a shot rather than waiting for it to be re-marketed. xxx0

Blame Kirsty and Phil - every time I see them put an offer in for a client now, they always seem to add "On the condition that it's taken off the market, nobody else views it". People learn from these programmes. Curse you, Kirsty and Phil
I'd speak to the agent and just say you were disappointed, but could they keep your details on file in case it falls through. Might even help them keep you in mind should something similar come up. It worked for me on my last house - missed out on the one I loved, but the next week, one across the street came up for sale. They made sure I was first through the door.© Cuilean 2005.
