Ummm thanks, sounds little outside my comfort zone, but I have heard how good and how much quicker the SSD drives are, back to the drawing board, but thanks, will try cleaning out the fan and case, and try the safe mode start first.0

No I haven't tried that ? Is that holding F8 on start up ?
Yes that's right.
Let us know how it behaves in safe mode (with networking)

Just started it in safe mode, all up and running in just over a minute ? Although Outlook still took a long time, however, the computer started properly and loaded Opera and IE in the minute mark, so what is it that this is showing ? Thanks0 -

Also bear in mind that the 530 was shipped with Vista. If you only have a Windows 7 upgrade, Vista has to be installed first to get it accepted, although Google will find a way round that for you. I also found that Dell do not have a driver you can download for the built in card reader with Windows 7. Google found a solution for that too though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I then restarted and it took just under five minutes till I got the Windows start up tone and a further four and a half minutes for the first web browser page to load.0

No its the original box etc as a clean install, its the version I installed onto this machine over Windows Vista, I imagine I can still use this, or as I have previously registered this onto the machine I am currently running, will this still load, i.e.. for the second time, I tried to order the above PC, but now out of stock, that alleged offer lasted around 30 mins if that0

Run chkdsk on the c drive
backup any recent data then restore from an acronis backup taken from a time when it didn't take 10 minutes to start. If you've been doing backups, you may as well use them
make a proper note of the error message if it returns
Finding out what's wrong with the existing machine whilst waiting for windows10 and researching the market may be better than rushing into hotukdeals suggestionsDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0
