OVO Smart Gateway

Well despite Ovo assuring me they'd stopped issuing Smart Gateways until some time next year I have received one from them in the post. However since I installed yesterday I've been unable to link it; message continually advises taking longer than expected. I can see from the Ovo website they've now updated to show these are no longer be issued. Is it a common problem, failing to link; is there anything I can do to fix this?0
