flight delays

Dear All
Dont know if im on write page .Me and my partner flew to brisbane in feb of this year.We boarded the emirates plane at manchester airport and after 20mins we were told by the captain we would be deiayed for 30 mins after 30mins the captain came on and said sorry for the delay but they were waiting for a part to fit and it would be another 60mins anyway after a3hrs sat on plane we was told we would b taking off.We got to to dubaui for our connecting flight only to be told it had left 30mins earlier.We was told to go to the emirates desk for more info well have you ever been to dubai airport after 45mins we found it only to be greeted by a unpleasent horrible employee saying it was our fault we had missed our connecting flight.He said it was only out of courtesy they were going to put us up in hotel because the flight to brisbane wasent going till tomorrow at 08:34 in morning not happy with attitude so all together we were delayed 39hrs e-mailed emirates they said sorry for what had happend and as a goodwill gesture without prejudice or admission of liability if i join there skyward accounts they will give me 20,000 complimentry miles.I sent an e-mail back saying thank you for the miles but i must decline there offer as i dont want to fly with them again.Havent heard anything since does anybody know what i should do next cheers

You could have used the miles elsewhere, easyJet being an example.
