yes, endsleigh seem to offer cover "free" in most halls....details are usually available on accomodation section of uni web site or posted to you when you get your accomodation letter....I know they def operarte that way in Newcastle and Northumbria

as I said, they seem to offer cover from most halls....its not an option though...its part of the deal.....
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

  • My advice: don't go for Endsleigh. They cost loads more than others I have looked at, extras like laptop and digital camera cover cost way over the odds. I know a couple of friends that have made claims and had problems as well.

My tip: www.sisdirect.co.uk. I made the Endsleigh mistake in first year, but been with SIS last two years, and about to get it for my 4th year. Over £60 cheaper than Endsleigh after considering laptop cover. Oh, and best of all, some of the standard letters they send are signed by a real person! They got a nice system of ensuring groups of items under a set price.

    hope that helps.

now that is cheap... thanks! by the way, im assuming laptop cover for anywhere in the UK is covered just under "Computers" section and dont need to put it into "All Risks" section as well?

One thing I've learnt with buying insurance - never assume, always double check. :)

so I got a really cheap quote from sisdirect - is the premium for the 12 months from cover start date??? just tried ringing them but their offices are now closed!
  • Didn't ensure my stuff as most of it wasn't worth being insured. My laptop had seperate insurance as do my phone & iPod. My mum said if anything were to be taken/damaged I could claim off her home insurance.
