Ive recently changed phones and im moving from Giff gaff to vodafone pay as you go.
my Giff gaff account has a small amount of credit on, which I assume will be wiped out once the numbers transferred ( unless the credit follows the number to a new provider)
Will the credit follow the number?
if not is it possible to transfer it?
if its not transfered will the network just take it?
if its not transferable, is it possible to do something worthwhile with it such a donate to charity?

I don't believe it will transfer with the number, find a charity that you can donate to by way oif a text, I'm sure there are some out there or just use the credit up.

The credit will expire with the termination of the Voda sim, you can text it to charity. A quick Google finds many charities are set up for it.

    For example, Mind
There are two ways to donate to Mind via text

Text SUPPORT to 70660 to give £3
Text costs £3 plus network charge. Mind receives 100% of your donation. Obtain bill payers permission. Customer care 020 8215 2243 Charity No 219830

Mental Health UK will accept any amount:
Please text the word MHUK01 followed by the amount you would like to donate (between £1 and £10) to 70070

So for example to donate £1, you would text MHUK01 £1 to 70070

Red Cross have a whole page of short codes for donations to various things

Will the credit follow the number?
=the credit is held by the network

if not is it possible to transfer it?
= rather like asking Tesco to refund you on ASDA items

if its not transfered will the network just take it?
= pay for the nibbles at the next shareholder's meeting

if its not transferable, is it possible to do something worthwhile with it such a donate to charity?
= best solution! and it will make a true difference to someone's life hopefully...
